Changes

Since my last post, which was over a month ago, my sweet little baby has discovered new territory--WALKING! I can hardly believe that my boy is now a biped. He is so proud of himself. We all clap and praise him when he walks a long distance. He is such a happy little guy.

Well, I survived one summer session and I've been diligently working on summer session number two. I have one more week of classes. This session I am taking Business Law and Intro to Finance. Law is very interesting and I think I'm going to get an A in it, but Finance is another story. I'm working my tail off in that class! I'm glad I only have to take one finance class. It is interesting, I'm just not very good at it!

We've had some family come visit this week. Clayton's Mom, Grandpa, and Sister all came to visit on Wednesday. We went to Portofino's for dinner and just hung out on Thursday. I taught them how to play 99. 99 is a family game I have played with my side of the family for years. It's very fun and fast-paced. It keeps you on your toes. Today, my mom is spending time with us. She came up yesterday and spent last night at my grandparents. We went to the Farmer's Market and walked a dog at the Humane Society.

Side note: I fell in love with a dog today. I know that I really do not need a dog added to my day-to-day life, but I can't help but want one. She was so cute. Her name was Melody and she was some sort of lab mix. Even though I know it is very realistic for me to have a dog right now, I cried in the car as we drove away. It breaks my heart to not be able to take her home.

On lighter terms, I ordered Cash's birthday invitations. I can't believe Cash will be 1 year old in 6 weeks. It was only yesterday that I brought him home from the hospital. I don't think I will ever stop saying that. We are going to have a dinosaur themed party for him at a local park. I'm so excited! I simply can't wait!

Summer...

...so far it has been filled with stormy weather.

It's been a while since my last post.

What a few weeks it has been! We went to Myrtle Beach last week to only be met by clouds. It was still a much needed getaway. I actually got to finish a book during our stay in South Carolina. I read Chelsea Handler's "Are you there vodka? It's me Chelsea." It was so funny! I read a few chapters to Clayton on the ride there. We were both laughing hysterically. There were parts when I had to stop reading because I was laughing so hard.

Clayton is starting to work again at Sledgehammer Charlie's in Blowing Rock. He's bar tending this summer. He's really excited. My mom and I went in yesterday for lunch and we ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri. It was sooo yummy!

Oh, Cash has two stitches. Yes, you read correctly, my 8-month-old son has two stitches right above his right eye. Talk about a nightmare! I thought we had baby-proofed our apartment. Apparently, I forgot the corner of our nightstand. A place I never even considered. Yesterday, was by far, one of the worst days of my life. I couldn't imagine having a really sick child. I hated every minute in the ER. However, at the end of the night, we got to carry our little boy out of the hospital, take him home, and snuggle with him. I couldn't imagine not being able to take him home. Having a healthy child is one of life's greatest blessings.

Today is the first day of summer school. I've been to my marketing class, but I haven't made it to Statistics yet. The latter of the two I am particularly dreading because our professor e-mailed the syllabus and said our grade was solely determined by 3 tests. I am not a good test-taker. I may drop the class.

Well, it's off to Stats.

Until next time!

At last...

...the sweet aroma of summer lingers delicately in our home.

We've survived another semester. Clayton has 2 semesters left and I have 3. I can't believe college is flying by so quickly.

Speaking of time flying... Cash is now crawling and pulling up on tables! He's learning to give kisses to mommy and daddy. He'll be 8 months on Friday. I can hardly believe it! He's becoming a ruff-and-tumble little boy. Everyday is a new adventure. I am so blessed by his little life. What a miracle he is!

This is my first experience with online blogs. I'm a little nervous.

Today, Charlotte (Clayton's mom), Maggie (Clayton's sister), Cash and I ran around Charlotte running errands. Maggie is thinking about transferring to South Piedmont Community College (SPCC) to become an ultrasound technician. I think she would be wonderful and it! After cruising around Charlotte, we stopped at Lisa's house (Clayton's aunt). They have 3 kittens! They were so sweet. I'm not a cat fan, but they easily melted my heart. After our kitty fix, we dropped Cash and Charlotte off and Maggie, Clayton, and I met Chuck (Clayton's dad) at Hop's for their $1 beer and 1/2 off appetizer happy hour. I love their honey rolls! Yuuummmm!

Anyways, Chuck, Maggie, and Clayton went to the O.A.R concert downtown, Cash is fast asleep, and Charlotte and I are watching American Idol. Talk about the "American dream."

What a day!
